Lorraine has been a dedicated Yogini and lover of Truth for over twenty years. She offers teacher trainings and retreats around the globe and is dedicated to helping people find freedom through Yoga. She also specializes in guiding women to practice Yoga in a feminine way. She is a fully qualified Ashtanga Vinyasa and Tantra Yoga instructor with a multitude of advanced trainings and thousands of teaching hours to her credit.
Lorraine’s teaching biography ranges from the Yoga Journal Conference in Moscow to private sessions in her own home. Years of study has led her to create her own blend of yoga called Vinyasa Tantra, which combines the beauty of the fluid form, coupled with the subtle energy world of the Tantric Wisdom Goddesses, nadis and chakras. Lorraine is also very passionate about Kirtan and offers this on a regular basis as part of her spiritual practice.
Throughout her Yogic journey, she has been blessed to study directly and train with renowned teachers such as Shiva Rea, Paul Dallaghan and Richard Freeman. She feels huge gratitude to them for showing her the depth and beauty of asana.
She also feels immensely grateful for the chance to study directly with dear Sri OP Tiwari from the Kaivalydham Yoga Research Institute. Tiwariji is one of the few remaining masters of authentic Pranayama and inspired by his humility, love and wisdom, Lorraine completed several of his advanced trainings and a month long intensive.
A curiosity and a strong aspiration to understand more about the world of subtle energies, led her to five years of intensive study of the traditional teaching of Tantra and Kundalini Yoga. This gifted her so much knowledge about the flow of energy, chakras, drishtis and bandhas and created a clear internal map to work with.
During the same time, she also found herself immersed in silent meditation retreats led by Sahajananda, the founder of Hridaya Yoga. This practice of Self-Enquiry and Meditation is focused on the Spiritual Heart and is inspired by the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, Kashmir Shaivism, Sufism, and Dzogchen. This period of intense experiential study brought a huge shift and transformation, both in her personal life and teaching practices.
Today, she is passionate about offering Yoga in a deep rich feminine way. Lorraine’s unique style takes you on a profound inward journey from the physical to the sublime, understanding and embracing the totality, be it energetic, emotional, mental or beyond. She feels honored to be able to share this knowledge and to offer a soft yet dynamic asana practice with depth and devotion.
Lorraine also devotes her time to self enquiry and studying music. Her love of devotional Kirtan and Satsang is something that just naturally shines through in all of her trainings and retreats, making her courses uniquely heartfelt with a dose of good old English humour.
